At the heart of the majestic Shigar Valley, our organization is committed to creating meaningful change through education, health, climate action, and community empowerment.
Who we are
Our flagship initiative, Khadija Ibrahim Public School, serves as a beacon of hope and opportunity. Currently, eight schools are operating across various regions of Shigar, established based on community needs. While most schools offer completely free education, two operate on a minimal fee structure — with full fee exemptions available for students from underprivileged backgrounds. Our goal is to ensure that no child is deprived of learning due to financial constraints.
In addition to education, we are actively addressing the climate crisis through awareness and grassroots action, understanding that a resilient future begins with informed communities. Recognizing the health challenges in remote areas, we have also established a dispensary in Askoli, providing vital medical support to the local population.
Our commitment to women’s empowerment led to the launch of a vocational training center, which unfortunately paused operations during COVID-19 due to funding limitations. However, we continue to seek sustainable solutions.
To support our mission and ensure the long-term sustainability of our projects, we launched Discovering GB, a travel and tour company, alongside the DOST Hub. The profits generated are reinvested directly into our schools, healthcare, and community development programs.
